What looks are trending for luxury vinyl flooring?

Luxury vinyl, in itself, is a trend because it offers so much value for the decorating dollar. It's stylish, 100% waterproof, durable, easy-care, and has an uncomplicated installation. In addition, it follows all current industry trends, so read further to see what you'll find:

Top trends in wood, stone, and tile this year

Overall, neutral, organic colors are trending as people look for a natural, rustic look.

1. Wood: gray and gray blends (such as greige), light colors, and patterns such as herringbone, chevron, and parquet. Wide planks and textures, such as handscraped, wire-brushed, and distressed, are all trending hot.

2. Title: Large format is in, with some even getting as big as 25-square. Wood-and-stone look tiles, the highly decorated mosaics and stained glass, trellis, geometric and encaustic-style, and filigree patterns are all the rage.

3. Stone: Tan, brown, gray, and white hues and earthy colors make stones like limestone, slate, and travertine especially popular. Other stone trends include veining variations, textures, and marble and granite, especially on bathroom floors.

What is luxury vinyl?

If you haven't seen vinyl recently, you're in for a pleasant surprise. This is a premium and budget-friendly product with images that, thanks to digital photography, are vibrant with knots, grains, swirls, growth rings, veining variations, and brilliant colors and patterns. It can be cut into boards, called luxury vinyl plank or LVP, to mimic hardwood or square, groutable squares, luxury vinyl tile, or LVT.

Ultra-durable, this is five times thicker than the original sheet vinyl. In addition, it has multiple layers and a top, transparent, melamine wear layer that protects the floor from scratches and scuffs; in fact, it's so tough, it's considered a top choice for homes with kids and pets!

This utterly waterproof product is also easy-to-care-for with just a regular sweeping and periodic mopping. Installation can also be uncomplicated, especially when it's a floating floor that is clicked, mat, and hover.
